CBI team brings drug kingpin Atala from Peru to Goa

PANAJI: Israeli drug kingpin Yaniv Benaim alias Atala was extradited from Peru and brought to Goa on Friday morning by the CBI team. He is being produced before the NDPS court. Atala,an important link in the policemen-drug peddler nexus case reported in Goa, hadjumped bail in the state in August last year and was re-arrested in Peru inJanuary 2011. A look out circular issued against him by the Interpol helped innabbing him. Atala was brought under tight security coverconsidering his importance to the case, according to sources.
